Biography

Paul Hinks is a self-taught artist working in pastel and oil.  His working practice is based on the methods of the classical tradition, with each painting built upon a foundation of accurate structural drawing and value masses.  Many of his paintings, which reside in the homes of collectors around the world, are praised for their high level of detail, but he strives to work beyond a merely photographic representation; to capture something of the heart and soul of the subject on the surface.
